Last night, Troop 388 held its Summer Court of Honor, and we are pleased to announce our Scouts' tremendous advancement: 38 merit badges, 2 rank advancements including a Gold Palm, 2 special World Conservation Awards, and 4 service stars. Congratulations everyone!

Scouts attending Summer Camp next week should meet in the Food Lion parking lot, adjacent to Greystone, by 10am Sunday, June 26.
We will depart for Camp Durant no later than 10:30am, so arrive on time!
Lunch will be OTR, so bring cash for that meal, as well as the return meal. Also remember to bring cash for the Trading Post, etc. according to the guidelines we discussed in the meeting.
Finally, have your swim trunks and towel in a day pack for check-in!
All shall meet at Shinleaf Campground at 6:50pm in complete Class A uniform. We will proceed to campfire as a troop. Call SM Fleming with questions.

Scouts and their parents attending the OA Call Out shall meet at Greystone, Saturday 4/30 no later than 6:30pm. We will caravan to Shinleaf Campground to arrive before the ceremony begins at 7:30pm. Scouts wear Class A uniforms; OA members wear appropriate sashes.

Cub Scout Pack 33 Bicycle Rodeo Saturday September 19, 2009 10am Greystone Baptist Church Parking Lot Followed by a hot dog cook out. The Raleigh Police Department will assist us with Cycling skills, Safe bicycling practices, and Learning the rules of the road. We also will have a bicycle maintenance check up. Don't miss it! Owing to Mother's Day, we have revised our Umstead Park outing this weekend to a one-nighter. Parents should drop their scout off at 4pm Friday and pick him up at 6pm Saturday.

We have cancelled our outing to Camp Reeves. We will hold a parents meeting 2pm at Greystone Baptist Church.

The Pack Arrow of Light / Bridging Ceremony begins at 6:30pm. The Bridging itself will not occur until shortly after 7pm. We encourage everyone to attend the whole event for it will be very neat. If you must arrive after 6:30, the ceremony is in the Fellowship Hall (where we hold our COH). Please enter quietly and remember all family is invited. All PLC members should arrive no later than 6:15.

Because of a conflict with Merit Badge University, we are moving our Feburary outing to Topsail Island back one weekend. The new date is 27-February through 1-March-2009.

'Recent rains across the state, while not ending the drought, are sufficient to make carefully tended open burning safe to reduce the amount of dry forest debris and cut the potential for larger, more intense and harder-to-control fires later in the year, especially during the spring fire season.
DENR and its Division of Forest Resources will continue daily monitoring of conditions to determine if the burn ban needs to be reinstated.'

This is the King holiday weekend. It will be extremely crowded on the slopes on Sat/Sun and the lift lines will be worse than Disney! This is the reason for skiing on Friday and we are blessed to have the day off from school.
Scouts: arrive between 7:30am and 7:45am for an 8:00am departure to the Tank Museum.
(1) We will return between 5pm and 7pm; parents will be called to confirm return time. (2) Remember to bring a bag lunch.

We have extra 11oz caramel, the little tins, and extra butter lights, plus a few of the 3-way and 5-way tins, and a 30 pack. These are extra popcorns we have left over from the original order. The most we have left is the 11oz caramel tins. We just have a few days of sales left and I'd like to get these sold. So especially any of the small caramel tins that we sell can probably be delivered next Monday.
The removal of the IRIS flowers at Rex Hospital is canceled for tonight (Thursday October 25) - due to the rain. They will take them down on Sunday (October 28) at 2pm, and they will get other volunteers to assist with the take down.
November is upon us, and the leaves are finally changing. We're off to Hanging Rock to catch a glimpse of the fall transformation.

Unforeseen conditions require us to move our hike this weekend further up the Appalachian Trail. Remember this is the longest backpacking trip we've had, so double check that you are prepared!. If you forget an item, there's no option to get a replacement.
Make sure you've got your calendars marked for April 30th, from 9am - 2pm. We will be cooking lunch and desert (dutch oven treats) with our brother Cub Scout Pack 33 and erecting a camp site.
